The Nature Of Subluxation And Its Treatment

by Philip Vincent

Subluxation is a term that is frequently heard in chiropractic therapy, but what exactly is it? To clarify, a vertebral subluxation is a vertebra that is out of its normal range of motion. Since it is not in its proper alignment, the subluxation causes interference to the nervous system and disrupts its proper function.

Adverse health problems can result if a subluxation is ignored for a long time because it interferes with the main pathway of the nervous system, the spinal cord. A subluxation often first shows its signs through chronic pain, but subluxations are also often present without any pain and will remain relatively unnoticed for several years until the pain arises.

A subluxation can highly damage the nervous system of a person and cause disorders in the organs that the involved nerves interact with. Various disorders ranging from asthma to constipation can be caused by the dysfunction of the nervous system caused by vertebral subluxation. It is highly recommended that a person undergo a full spinal exam by a chiropractic therapist annually, starting in early childhood at around the age of nine. The annual spinal examination is a good approach to prevent health issues related to vertebral subluxation.

Vertebral subluxation can cause back pain, which is extremely discomforting. Back pain is said to be a very expensive condition, as it has an effect on the working performance of a person and therefore also impacts the economy. Pain pills are mostly a temporary therapy, but back pain almost always returns on a regular basis.

Minor back pain can result in debilitating paralyzing episodes and may lead to nerve compression and immobility. There is no single therapy and pill to eliminate back pain and guarantee a constant guard against its recurrence. The only way to make sure that back pain is reduced is to restore the flexibility and balance of the spinal region.

Too often, back pain is caused by improper posture during different stages of activity of the body, from sleep to work. The loss of flexibility in the spine is associated with degenerative arthritis, degenerative disc disease, spinal decay, and almost every other illness associated with back pain. Proper spinal posture and restoration of the flexibility of the spine will minimize the incidence of back pain and restore comfort to the person. Flexibility will lead to cartilage not decaying and nerves, veins, and organs not being compressed. A flexible spinal column will result in reduced pain and will be more resilient against future injury and degeneration.

Protect Your Prostrate Without Sexual Side Effects

by Sharon Folkner

This year thousands of men will be diagnosed with BPH (Benign Prostrate Enlargement) or Prostrate Cancer. According to statistics, 1 out of every 2 males will suffer with BPH, and worse yet, 1 out of six will be diagnosed with some form or prostrate cancer within their lifetimes. In 2008 over 28,000 deaths were attributed to prostrate cancer, making it the 2nd leading cause of cancer deaths in males.

There are several clinically proven interventions that are discussed in this article that you can use to provide a multi-faceted targeted approach to deterring Prostrate problems. Best of all they work quite effectively, and without the side effects often experienced with prescription medications such as sexual dysfunction.. These more natural methods work in various ways to disrupt prostrate disease at every stage of development. Prostrate patients are, in fact, often advised by their Physicians to consider the sexual side effects before starting a course of treatment with prescription drugs.

The leader in providing natural prostrate defense is Saw Palmetto. The plant extracts of Saw Palmetto provides a multi-target approach to prostate health. The first way it accomplishes this is by inhibiting the production of DHT. DHT is a hormone is responsible for increasing the size and growth of the prostrate, and increasing the risk of cancer. Saw Palmetto extracts also binds to DHT receptors, disrupting their cycle of destructiveness. Lastly, they reduce the pain of lower urinary tract inflammation by blocking certain transmitters.

In 18 clinical trials studying the effects of Saw Palmetto on 2,939 men, Saw Palmetto reduced urinary tract symptoms and increased urine flow more effectively than the placebos. The subjects taking Saw Palmetto also experienced significantly less nocturnal (nighttime urination). In a double blind study 60% of men receiving the supplement showed significant improvement. Additionally, by combining Saw Palmetto with other extracts such as Nettle Root and Pygeum Africanum (African Plum Tree Bark) the results were even more impressive.

Nettle Root when used in combination with Saw Palmettos also helps regulate hormone activity in Prostrate tissues. Another benefits include it’s powerful antimicrobial properties and its ability to reduce inflammation. Best of all, this is all accomplished without the toxicity experienced with pharmaceuticals. Nettle has demonstrated in clinical trials its abilities to counteract the effects of BPH and to even reverse it. When paired up with Saw Palmetto, they even more effectively attack cancer cell membranes and retard cancer growth.

Foods high in plant lignans such as Flax may also help in preventing prostate cancer. Clinical studies reveal that diets that were supplemented with Flax showed favorable reduction in tumor proliferation within just 30 days in men suffering with prostate cancer. Another effective compound for supporting prostate health and defending against BPH is Pygenum Africanum, which is now widely used in Europe as a standard therapy. Additionally, Lycopene (found in tomatoes) has been associated with decreased cancer risk and protection against DNA damage.

Each of these natural defenses works in uniquely different ways to provide multiple benefits and effective protection. When used in combination, they synergistically have a direct impact on prostate tissue and provide a powerful modulation of gene expression and protection against BPH and prostate cancer.
